London is full of things to do. But, other than the classic tourist spots, where else should you visit in this awesome city? Well, here’s a list of 10 things to do in London (that aren’t Oxford Street) to get you started.
Get your explorer shoes on!
1. Eat everything at the Camden Lock Market
You saw those halloumi fries that went viral? You want to taste some fancy locally-distilled gin? Or maybe you just wanna dip everything in cheese.
Get it all and loads more (plus a load of goth-style platform boots) down at Camden Lock Market and the surrounding shops.
2. Get views for days at the Sky Garden
The Sky Garden is to London what the Top of the Rock is to NYC: the best vantage point for epic views of famous landmarks.
Book your spot in advance (don’t worry, it’s free) and play the ultimate game of I Spy.
3. Go for a wander through East London
You’ve never taken so many pictures for the ‘gram until you’ve walked from Shoreditch High Street to Brick Lane and down to Spitalfields Market.
With street art everywhere you turn, epic bagels from 24-hour bakeries and so much more, you’ll need to dedicate at least a whole day to explore here.
4. Check out Richmond Park
For a big city, London has SO MANY parks. For us, Richmond Park beats them all not only because it’s huge but because of all of the beautiful deer that call this park home.

5. Go to Notting Hill (but not for the Sunday market)
There are so many great cafés and unique boutiques to explore in Notting Hill. But make sure you go during the week and ditch the crowds.
We love a coffee from Farm Girl with no lines and generally exploring the beautiful streets.
You might even get a picture of the famous blue door without anyone else near it (280 Westbourne Park Road for those that wanna know).
6. Stretch your legs along the Thames Walk from Hammersmith to Putney Bridge
There is nothing more British than taking a nice stroll along the river on a Sunday.
Watch the rowers go past and find a nice cosy pub for a roast and a pint. This one’s up there on our things to do in London list.
7. Skip Les Misérables and go for Shakespeare
Yeah there’s the classic West End hits like Les Mis and The Lion King. But while these can be out of budget for a lot of travellers, opt instead for a traditional Shakespeare play.
Shakespeare classics are performed at one of the coolest locations in London: Shakespeare’s Globe, a reconstruction of an Elizabethan playhouse. This is one we couldn’t leave out of our things to do in London list.
8. Take a ferry ride from Greenwich to Westminster
The perfect romantic afternoon activity. Catch the tube to North Greenwich station, get on the ferry at North Greenwich pier and soak in the sights.
From the City to Westminster, let the Thames show you the best from the water.
9. Tick off a Harry Potter moment on the Millennium Bridge
Hopefully you’re travelling with your most crazed Potter fan because there are so many iconic movie spots to find around London.
For one of the most recognisable (but often least busy), head to the Millennium Bridge. Keep an eye out for dementors as you walk from St Paul’s Cathedral to the Tate Modern.
10. Do a bottomless brunch
Behold the weekend ritual that is getting tipsy before midday 😎
Whether you go for a fancy option of bubbles and eggs benedict or would rather get stuck into breakfast tacos and a bloody mary – there’s an option for everyone in London. Our choice? Bad Egg in East London.
