Sure Disney movies are filled with princesses, magic and happily ever afters. But what about all the Europe #travelinspo they’ve got going on too? Check out these 6 Disney movies that are no exception to the rule (and will make you wanna travel Europe ASAP).
1. Peter Pan (1953)
Who can forget the scene where Peter flies with Wendy, Michael and John through London? Swooping past St. Paul’s Cathedral, Tower Bridge and the River Thames, we’re talking ultimate sightseeing right here.
Oh, and let’s not forget this adorable moment when they land on Big Ben.
If you’re around Big Ben at night, look closely, you might be able to spot Peter 😉
2. Beauty and the Beast (1991)
Belle’s ‘small provincial town’ is set in rural France. As she sings the ridiculously catchy song ‘Bonjour’, we get an idea of stereotypical French country life. We’re talking boulangeries filled with yummy pastries and quirky bookshops to get lost in.
Get your Belle on in some cute haunts in Paris. Insta-worthy overload! (And baguettes for days).
3. The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996)
Whilst we’re on the topic of Paris, it’d be rude not to mention the Disney movie with a Paris landmark in the title! Remember Quasimodo’s emotional rendition of ‘Out There’ with the Notre Dame as his stage?
Also, you can take a visit inside to admire its beauty when you’re next in the city, just like Esmeralda did.
Or, you can climb up the towers for some epic views over the city.
4. Pinocchio (1940)
Remember this opening scene where Jiminy Cricket introduces us to the story? Look closely at the setting:
With mountains, the characters’ traditional clothing and the architecture of the houses as clues, Geppetto’s Workshop is in a cute village in Italy. Not a bad home for little Pinocchio.
5. Hercules (1997)
From zero to hero, Hercules somehow made being a demigod relatable to everyday life. Go Hercules!
With countless examples of architecture, clothing and general shenanigans, the movie is set in Greece. Ultimate frisbee anyone?
Live out your Hercules dreams in Greece among some of the incredible architecture that still stands today.
6. Frozen (2013)
Mountains, fjords, and lots and lots of snow. It can only mean one thing: Norway!
Make like Elsa and let it go among the unreal landscapes of Norway. You’ll be feeling like a princess in no time.
