You’re in Paris, France, so of course the Eiffel Tower is on your list. But, should you take the stairs or the lift to the top? Read on for more.

The Eiffel Tower: stairs vs. lift is the eternal debate. Which is cheaper, faster, more fun, generally better?

Let’s start with the basics: ticket prices.

1. Taking the stairs (with a final lift at the end) to the top of the Eiffel Tower costs €19 for adults.
2. Taking the lifts (the whole way) to the top of the Eiffel Tower costs €25 for adults.

So, while the stairs are the cheaper option, how many stairs are we talking? *panics about not having gone to the gym in forever*

Well, in total, there are around 700 stairs before you hop in a lift to get to the summit. Aaaand breathe.

Sounds like a lot, but when the lifts take around the same time overall, maybe it’s worth saving that extra €6 and taking the stairs. Plus, you’ll get that fist pump moment when you get to the top having walked the whole way…

But don’t just take our word for it. Each to their own after all! So, watch as one of our awesome Trip Leaders, Sarah, finds out for herself which is the best way to reach the top of the Eiffel Tower.
