Halloween is coming! To get you ready, we’ve rounded up some of the best things to do around the world for Halloween 2018.
From haunted houses to scary movie marathons, they’re all here. Come take a look.
1. Prepare to be scared at Spooktober, Wednesday 31st October – Sunday 4th November 2018
– St Kilda Town Hall, Melbourne, Australia
Creepy factor: 🎃🎃🎃🎃_
With the tagline: ‘Tame by day, terrifying by night’, you know what you’re in for at St Kilda’s Spooktober this year. Back for a sixth year, this five-day Halloween festival is well worth a visit.
Wanna face your fears? Lock in a tour at one of two interactive haunted houses. Wait, did you just tap my shoulder?
For something a little more tame, there will also be Halloween carnival games, a food truck village (featuring some of Melbourne’s best food trucks), a haunted spirits bar, costume contests and face painting to get involved with. Nice!
2. Light the City, Saturday 27th October 2018
– Sydney, Australia
Creepy factor: 🎃🎃_ _ _
Head on down to Mrs Macquaries Road for Light the City – a unique way to do Halloween this year.
The 2.5km loop will be closed to vehicles but open for you to walk or cycle. Along the route there’ll be light displays and cool special effects (think: a ‘tunnel of light’ and a ‘field of beams’).
When you’re not cruising through the light-filled fun, head on down to the harbour-side outdoor area. Get involved with a silent disco, roller racing, limbo dancing and more.
Hungry after all of that spooky excitement? Fear not! There’ll be food trucks to satisfy your monstrous appetite 😉
3. Check out the Halloween Dog Walk 2018, Sunday 28th October 2018
– Hampstead, London, United Kingdom
Creepy factor: 🎃_ _ _ _
Cute factor: 🐶🐶🐶🐶🐶
The All Dogs Matter charity rehabilitate, rehome and rescue pups in and around London. This year, they’ve organised possibly the cutest thing to come out of Halloween. That’s right, a charity Halloween Dog Walk and Fancy Dress Show!
Head on down to The Spaniards Inn in Hampstead on Sunday where registration starts at 11am and the walk starts at 12pm.
Then, it’s back for a fancy dress show. Yep, you heard! There’ll be three categories (spookiest dressed dog, adult and child) as well as stalls, goodies and treats up for grabs. Be sure to pre-register if you’re thinking of entering the contest.
Ten points for the cutest *cough* scariest dog costume!
4. Grab tickets to see Wicked
– Apollo Victoria Theatre, London, United Kingdom
Creepy factor: 🎃🎃_ _ _
You’re off to the Land of Oz (but not as you know it) in the smash-hit musical Wicked.
Grab yourself some tickets this Halloween season and immerse yourself in the untold story of the Wicked Witch of the West. With ridiculously catchy songs, colourful costumes and impressive staging, you’ll fall head over heels for this story that traces Glinda and Elphaba’s friendship.
Wanna find out how Glinda The Good and the Wicked Witch of the West got their names? You’ve come to the right place.
5. Village Halloween Parade, Wednesday 31st October 2018
– Greenwich Village, New York City, USA
Creepy factor: 🎃🎃🎃 _ _
The epic Village Halloween Parade is back for its 45th year and it’s bound to be bigger, better and spookier than ever.
Expect to see a 50,000-strong parade filled with super creative costumes, puppets, live music, dancers and artists.
Don’t wanna sit back and watch? No worries. If you want to be a part of the parade, just dress up in your most awesome Halloween costume and show up at the starting location. It’s free to take part but you absolutely have to be in costume.
The theme this year is ‘I AM a Robot!’ and the party kicks off at 7pm. You’re not gonna wanna miss this… 🤖
6. Get sorted with a group halloween costume for 2018
