As the sun begins to warm up the Northern part of the world, music fans travel the globe in search of their favourite artists and to party with thousands of others.

And what’s even better is that there are some seriously epic AF festivals to choose from.

Here are our top five picks for ‘fests you need to head to overseas:

SZIGET – Budapest, Hungary

While the name might be weird to say, Sziget is a seriously fun experience. Over 400,000 punters from 95 countries are drawn to the island of Danube in Budapest for this weeklong event. With 200 shows daily over 50 different venues, there is never a dull moment. They don’t call this one of the world’s best festivals for nothing!

GLASTONBURY – Somerset, UK

Starting way back in 1970, Glastonbury Festival is a heavyweight in music festival world. Each year the line-up features some of the biggest names on the planet on the Pyramid Stage. But it’s not all about the mega stars; with local acts and another 175,000 of your friends you can definitely find something you’re bound to rock out to.

Remember to pack your wellies: unpredictable UK weather + a muddy farm, means it’s a must!

TOMORROWLAND – Boom, Belgium

Held in the appropriately named town of Boom (yes, it’s the actual name) in Belgium, Tomorrowland is one of the best known EDM festivals on the planet. It’s a full weekend of musical madness on fifteen beautifully designed stages, 400+ performers and dancers. Plus past decorations include active volcanoes and explosive butterflies. What?!

The festival layout and design makes you feel like you’ve stepped in another world.

SHAMBHALA – British Columbia, Canada

Hidden away in the beautiful British Columbia Mountains in a town called Salmo, Shambhala is a widely loved Canadian Festival. With over 15,000 travellers from around the world that make the pilgrimage to Salmo River Ranch, Shambhala features a stacked line-up, epic artwork and some of the most unique stage installations that you’ll ever see. There are plenty of opportunities for those epic selfies here.

BURNING MAN – Nevada, USA

They say that trying to explain Burning Man to someone who has never experienced it before is like describing particular colours to a blind man. Believe me, this is no typical festival! Thousands of creative people descend upon Black Rock Desert in Nevada, and immerse themselves in a cultural experience encompassing music, art and other creative mediums. You just have to experience it!
